The Slow Fire Drill 10 rds
From 10 yds fire 10 rds in 5 mins. Your goal is to have the smallest shot group possible. Should be shot on a NRA B8 target and scoring is based on the number rings.
Grouping Drill 60 rds
This is a basic drill that you will run once from 5 yds and again from 10 yds. Each group should be 5 rds and analyze your target after each grouping to identify any errors. Start with single shots and progress to 5 rd strings.
The Draw Drill 60 rds
Run this drill the same as grouping, but this time you will perform everything starting from the holster.
Rhythm Drill 30 rds
5 rd strings attempt to keep the same cadence between all shots. It helps to keep an internal cadence by counting in your head and firing on your count.
Half/Half Drill 30 rds (x2)
Starting at 20 yds fire 10 rds in 10 secs. Repeat from 10 yds in 5 secs. Repeat from 5 yds in 2.5 secs. This drill will combine the skills worked on in your grouping drill and rhythm drill. Goal is all rounds land within target area typically IPSC A zone.
Slow Fire Precision Drill 20 rds
You’ll need a target with 10-20, 2 inch dots. The goal is unlimited time but all of your rounds land within the 2 inch circle. Start at the 5 yd line and place one round in each circle. If you’re using a 10 circle target repeat once you get to the last circle.
Immediate Action Drill 20 rds
Load a 10 rd magazine with 3-4 dummy rounds. If you only have 1 or 2 dummy rds reduce the rds in the magazine to 5. When the gun does not fire on the dummy rd, conduct immediate action, Slap, Rack, Bang to clear the stoppage and continue the drill.
Remedial Action Drill 20 rds
Set up your gun for remedial stoppages such as stove pipe and work through clearing for 20 rds.
The Slow Fire Drill 10 rds
The point of repeating this drill is to give you a baseline at the beginning of the day and check for improvement at the end of the day. Hopefully you’ll see an improvement in your cadence and group size.

Slow Fire Drill 20 Rds
The first 10 rds will be shot single shot from standing with a reset to position 3 between each shot. Your second 10 rds will be shot in two 5 rd strings beginning from the draw resetting between strings.
Slow Fire Drill Kneeling 30 rds
The first 10 rds will be shot single shot from kneeling beginning at position 3 with a reset in between each shot. The second 10 rds will be shot single shot from the draw with a reset to the holster between each shot. The final 10 rds will begin from the draw and be shot in two 5 rd strings with a reholster between strings.
Rhythm Drill 15 rds
Beginning from the draw execute three 5 rd strings with a reholster between strings. You should see a progressive increase in speed. Make sure you are only going as fast as you can accurately gain hits on the target.
Bill Drill 30 rds
From the draw fire 6 rds as fast as you accurately can under time. While you’ll see many standards online for how fast you should shoot this drill, the only standard you should worry about it being faster and more accurate than you were the previous time.
Reload Drill 20 rds
Load mags of 2 or 3 rds and mix them up in your kit. Fire a 5 rd string on your target reloading on slide lock. Ideally you would have a partner load your mags and place them in your kit, but if you’re shooting by yourself, do your best to mix them up and not look to see how many rounds are in each mag when you place them in your kit.
The point here is that you just finished going fast and now it’s time to reset your mind on that precision side.
Dot Torture 100 rds
This is a 50 rd drill and you will need a “Dot Torture Target” you can find websites that allow you to download and print the target. Then just follow the instructions on the target. The goal is 50/50 100% to pass. Shoot it twice and see if you can increase your distance.
Target Transition Drill 24 rds
Set up three targets about yard apart. From the draw you’ll fire two rounds to the center of each target moving from either direction. Try to work on building a rhythm and speed.
El Presidente 24 rnds
Similarly to the previous drill use your three targets and now you will add a turn and a reloads. The starting position for this drill will be facing away from the targets and you will spin to face the targets before drawing, firing 2 rds to the center of each target, reloading and firing 2 rds to the center of each target working in reverse order. Be sure to keep your gun holstered until you’ve completed your turn and finger straight and off the trigger until you’re ready to fire. This drill is a lot of fun and watching your time improve is great, but there’s a lot going on in this drill so safety is paramount.
The Test 10 rds
From 10 yds fire 10 rds in 10 secs. This is a great way to finish the day and track your improvement. Start from position 3 or 4 depending on your skill level. Use a B8 and you should score 90 or above for a pass.
