Defensive Rifle

The founding fathers didn’t write the second amendment because the deer were coming. These classes are designed to protect you and the ones you love from the most dangerous game. We will dive into the principles and mindset of becoming a defensive rifle shooter based on the Army’s Combat Marksmanship curriculum.

  • ($200 per day)

This two day (12 hr) Level 1 course will lay the ground work for the principles of defensive marksmanship and get you comfortable with shooting from your feet. You will work through two full days of drills designed to take you beyond that one perfect shot and get you into the mindset that, unlike the movies, bad guys don’t always go down after one shot. You will learn how to work your way through stoppages, reloads, target discretion, application of hold, and more. This two day (12 hr) course will build on the foundation developed in the Level 1 Course and begin to introduce stress into the equation. In any defensive shooting scenario, the effects of stress will raise the difficulty to a whole new extreme. After WWII the US military believed that it would be able to rise to any level of conflict it could face and in Vietnam we learned the hard lesson that people naturally revert to their base level of training under stress. Our goal is to raise your base level to that next step so you can comfortably perform under pressure. This class will introduce multiple targets, barricades, shot timers, and more to raise your heart rate and allow you to experience the beginning stages of that stress factor. Once you’re armed with the knowledge, you can learn to defeat it. This is designed as a two day course but we understand busy schedules and each day can be taken individually.

    Students should bring:

    • AR style rifle (.223/5.56 or higher)

    • Approximately 400 rds per day

Your threats don’t usually stand still and neither should you. This two day (12 hr) Level 3 course will build on all of the skills learned in the two previous courses and blow right by them. You will be pushed outside of your comfort zone and discover a new sense of confidence in your abilities as a protector of your castle. Learn how to move from cover to cover while engaging single and multiple threats under time with precision. While intended to be a two day course each of these days can be selected individually to meet your busy needs.
